Wedding venues around the UK
As a vegan wedding videographer, I have had the opportunity to work at many different venues around the UK. In the past, I would have had to bring my food for the whole wedding day itself, as finding vegan options to serve at events was a challenge.
However, in recent years, I have been pleasantly surprised by the amazing vegan meals now offered at weddings.

A range of plant-based food
Gone are the days of dry salads, green beans or a plate of vegetables being the only vegan option on the menu. Now, many caterers offer creative and delicious vegan options that are just as satisfying as traditional meat-based dishes.
From vegan sushi and vegetarian Indian curries to plant-based burgers and even vegan cheeseboards, the options are endless.
I have had the pleasure of sampling some incredible vegan meals served at weddings, all of which have been carefully crafted by talented chefs.
One wedding I worked at featured a vegan barbecue, complete with seitan burgers, vegan sausages, and grilled vegetables. Another wedding had a vegan feast featuring a variety of Middle Eastern dishes, including falafel, hummus, and stuffed vine leaves.
Cost-effective vegan wedding food

One of the benefits of being a vegan wedding videographer is that I experience how amazing vegan food is in various venues and cuisines. I have had amazing vegan meals at rustic barn weddings, glamorous city weddings, and everything in between.
It's inspiring to see how many venues are now offering vegan options on their menus and how caterers are rising to the challenge of creating delicious and innovative plant-based dishes.
Overall, being a vegan wedding videographer has allowed me to see firsthand the positive changes happening in the wedding industry.
As more couples choose to have vegan weddings, venues and caterers are stepping up to provide delicious and creative vegan meal options. It's a joy to enjoy amazing vegan meals while capturing the special moments of a couple's big day.

Vegan wedding menu options
Some vegans fear having a completely vegan wedding. Still, with the growing popularity of vegan alternative plant-based diets, more vegan catering and bakery options are now available than ever before.
It may have been difficult to find vegan catering options for a wedding in the past. However, many caterers are now well-versed in vegan cooking techniques and ingredients. They can create delicious, plant-based meals that are just as satisfying as traditional meat-based dishes. In addition, various vegan-friendly restaurants and bakeries specialise in creating vegan cuisine for events.
Couples planning a vegan wedding can now choose from various dishes, vegan wines and cuisines, from vegan sushi to vegan wine to plant-based burgers and everything in between. Vegan options can be just as diverse and flavorful as traditional options and even more exciting and unique.
One of the benefits of having vegan options at a wedding is that it can make it easier for guests with dietary restrictions to enjoy the food and festivities.
Many people have dietary restrictions due to health concerns or ethical beliefs, and providing a guest list with vegan options can ensure that everyone can partake in the wedding meal.
In addition, vegan meals can often be less expensive than traditional meat-based options, leading to cost savings for the couple. This can be particularly beneficial for couples on a budget who want to save money without sacrificing quality.
Overall, the increased availability of vegan options makes it easier and more accessible for couples to plan a vegan wedding.
By choosing to include vegan menu options together, couples can create a beautiful, memorable wedding that aligns with their values and beliefs.

Ethically sourced wedding
Many couples extend their vegan values to other aspects of their wedding, including decorations, delicious food and favours. By ensuring that all wedding items are ethically sourced and cruelty-free, a vegan wedding can positively impact both animals and the environment.
Choosing ethically sourced decorations means selecting items made from sustainable or recycled materials that are produced in a way that does not harm animals or the environment.
For example, couples can choose natural flower petals or biodegradable alternatives instead of using balloons or confetti that can harm wildlife. Other environmentally-friendly decor options include repurposed wood, upcycled fabrics, and even potted plants that can be given as gifts or reused in the couple's home.
Favours are another area where ethical sourcing can make a big impact. Many couples give gifts or favours to their wedding guests as a way of saying thank you. For a vegan wedding, favours can be made from sustainable and cruelty-free materials such as plant-based candles, handmade soaps, or even vegan food items like artisanal chocolates or dried fruit.
One popular option for vegan favours is to donate to an animal welfare organization or an environmental charity instead of traditional favours.

The couples values
This promotes the couple's values and gives back to important causes. Another option for a vegan menu is to give guests a small potted plant or seed packet that they can take home and grow, encouraging sustainability and environmental awareness.
It's also important to consider the ethical implications of the clothing and accessories worn by the wedding party. Leather, wool, and silk are all animal-derived materials commonly used in wedding attire.
Vegan couples may choose non-leather shoes and handbags or consider sustainable and eco-friendly clothing options for their wedding dress made from plant-based materials like bamboo, hemp, or organic cotton.
By sourcing all wedding items ethically and cruelty-free, a vegan wedding can send a message of compassion and sustainability to all who attend. It's a way to show that values extend beyond just the food on the menu or wedding venue and that every aspect of the wedding can be thoughtful and mindful of its impact on the environment and animals.
